This two-day class will cover the following key quality standards
to develop and maintain a Web site:
content-driven web site
purpose of Web page clearly understood
well-organized Web site
navigation that flows
Web safe colors
appropriate fonts
optimized images that compliment content
plug-ins & applets that compliment content
checklist before publishing
how to maintain Web site
how to register Web site
The first day focuses on the key quality standards of Web pages
and experimenting with new tools. The second day will continue with
standards and include an exercise with specific criteria and tools
to use. Teams of two people will spend several hours putting together
a Web site using the criteria given. A presentation will be given
by each team at the end of the day. The prerequisites for this class
are Beginning HTML and Intermediate HTML: please bring your notes
from these courses. A working knowledge of HTML is necessary as
the exercise requires the ability to build a Web site and will require
several of the concepts learned in these classes.
